Visiting DK next year for holidays and want to bring the right plane

Hi all!
Some words about myself first. I am from Austria, living about 60km south of Vienna. My flying field even further south. Check it out at www.umfc-kirchschlag.at or on FB UMFC-Kirchschlag
I enjoy flying any kind of model and I am not into competition at all; just for fun.

It is still a bit more than a year to go for me, but however I am looking forward to my 2011 holidays which will bring me to Sjællands Odde.
We have booked a house there and of course I would like to bring some planes.
There seems to be enough space to fly even directly at the house, but I would like to soar on your shore lines as well. Now, to prepare myself - you know it takes time :D - I have got some questions for you.

1) How is the general situation with (model) flying in DK? Is it the same like Austria, where you are allowed to fly everywhere as long as it is not specificly forbidden and you have got a valid insurance? And of course you don't endanger somebody.

2) I am flying Jeti 2.4GHz - should not be a (legal) problem to use it, is it?

3) Which planes should I bring? I am travelling by car, so there must be place for them, but I wonder which make sense, especially for soaring on the shore.
My ideas ...
* Parkzone F4F - just for fun at the house
* Windrider Fox (EPP) - shore soaring
* Mini Ellipse - shore soaring
* or maybe any EPP wing with motor for both?

What do you think would be best? Would it be even possible to soar on the shore out there or do I need to go somewhere else?
Would it make sense to bring a bigger F3B like plane for soaring?

Many thanks in advance for your information.
Tom

Hi Sportsfreund,

What a nice flying field and club house you have !

I trust somebody from the area, you are going to, will be more than happy to help you with your questions, so I leave it to them as I am living on the peninsula Jutland.

I have a business freind (und Sportsfreund.. Wolfgang B. ;)) and a fellow country man of yours. His club is this:

Hi Björn,
it actually is a real nice flying site! And not only the house, but also the the club members are all great!
Whenever you happen to be in the area you need to visit us!

The world is small, especially when some share the same interests. However, Wolfgang is from the "other" side of Austria - nearly that far away than you are ;)

Hi Tom

Nice to hear that you want to be prepared to go flying here in Denmark.

Rules:

  • You have to have valid insurance. Make your insurance company check out the Danish laws.
  • You have to have permission from the owner of the field from where you start and land
  • You have to be more than 150 meters away from road with road numbers (see road map)
  • You have to be more than 150 meters away from a town boarder
  • You may not fly over crowded area
  • You have to be more than 5 km away from civil airports
  • You have to be more than 8 km away from military airports
  • 2,4 Ghz 100 mw erp is allowed
All your planes are sensible to bring. There are lots of possibillitys for slope soaring in the area you are going to.

Maybe some member in a club in the area would be nice enough to invite you to their flying field. :) Three years ago I visited a club east of Vienna. It was situated in a large wind mill park. Very nice people there :)

I hope you will enjoy your stay in Denmark.

Hi Regnar. I then trust

Regnar, thanks for the comprehensive input! I will take care of it!

Since you did have a nice time there on the field east of Vienna, I am convinced you did not meet any Mundl there ;)

Regnar, well this Mundl figure is not the friendliest guy around. Funny though!

btw. our reservations was canceled because of an IT failure by the rental company. Starting all over again - looking for a nice house :(
